Climate KIC and innovative start-ups in the water sector
On Wednesday July 15, 2020, WeCo participated in the presentation session of Climate KIC , which offered an overview of innovative start-ups in the field of water, among others. Deal Stream (Episode 3) thus presents ideas and teams at the cutting edge technology in cleantech investment within the European community of entrepreneurs from Climate-KIC.

Climate KIC’s investor marketplace offers the most comprehensive list of early stage start-up investment opportunities. It represents more than 2,000 incubated positive climate impact companies and 278 partners. Thus, this platform is the link between investors and start-ups in various sectors.

Cécile Dekeuwer, President of WeCo, had the opportunity to present the technology of her new model of toilets, the solutions they provide and its growth prospects. Indeed, WeCo is an innovative alternative to chemical and dry toilets: they combine water and cost savings, user comfort, flexibility and hygiene. Wastewater is recycled on site through an electrolysis system that allows infinite reuse of water. To develop its sales in Europe and abroad, WeCo is counting on market opportunities (the innovative toilet market will represent USD 6 billion by 2030 according to BCG) and on its fundraising of EUR 2 million in 2020. The latter will aim to develop WeCo’s sales force, sales in emerging countries as well as the provision of rental services. In addition, WeCo is on the verge of developing its unique technology for train toilets, a promising market.
